Enough to make you wince; enough to make you increasingly nervous. You could leave her there alone, move to the back. But there'd be hell to pay for weeks after.

Technician with a worried face. "Tap the ear in which you hear the next tone." You don't. Verdict: 55% hearing loss in the left ear, 25% in the right.
