Hospital bed many sizes too large for little me.

"My throat hurts, " I told the nurse upon waking. She looked down on me patiently and replied, "Yes, that's to be expected."

They fed me ice cream. I threw up.

Everyone had such long faces, as though it all made them very sad. Except for one nurse, who said of me approvingly, "He'll break hearts one day." I thought, Why would I want to do that?
