The symbolism of "real" bookshelves.
In high school, cheap metal adjustable shelves from Sears. College, a wall of plastic milk crates stolen from supermarket loading docks. Afterward, a big step up to board and brick, like a perpetual graduate student.
These are not expensive, but, they're solid and they look nice. Pine, 84" high, about four feet wide. A transition symbol: adulthood as reflected by furniture.
