Blonde-headed frat girl bursts into malicious laughter. Tired traveller, jetlagged, dizzy, hears her mockery before he feels the pain.
In that instance he realizes two facts. First, he's just hit his head on the hanging ceiling lamp. Second, Southern hospitality doesn't measure up to the claims people make for it.
