It is possible to converse with her.

You must talk only about her, or the things which interest her.

She's not interested in you, or the things which interest you.

Or, she's so possessed by panic that she shuts down. The things which interest you being new to her.

Yet when your afternoon of grief and loneliness arrives, it's her company you seek out.
