She warned me not to tell him, and, she was right.
I was enthusiastic about wanting to help. And, proud to be asked.
He was humiliated by the suggestion that he needed help. Unwilling to acknowledge that I was better.
I was surprised, as I am still often surprised to this day, when people's responses are irrational.
