An artform, or a sport. How many lies can you tell during a day?
Not: how many can you get away with. Somewhere in her spongy, porous self-awareness she understands perfectly well that no-one who's met her more than once believes anything she says. Not her family, not her neighbors, not her co-workers. With them the game becomes: how many preposterous lies can you browbeat people into pretending are true?
