Contradictory fruit of feminist battles of earlier generations, half-won, half-lost, still in progress. On the one hand, the freedom not only to have sex but to exercise reproductive control. On the other hand, the old ocean of moronic, culturally-dominant, pre-feminist caricatures.

The independence of ideology from material circumstances.
