Why is the phone singled-out for special abuse?

Kicked, pounded, stomped on, thrown in the creek, screamed at, thrown at me, thrown at walls: pretty much everything but dropped off a building or run over with a tank. (Don't give her ideas.)

I think, because the person on the other end told her, "No."
