The one thing that hurt the most in that whole painful eighteen months was when she deleted me from her MySpace friends.

Why would that be so bad?

Because symbolism counts.
Because it was intended to free her to flirt more easily with the latest of her cyber-lovers.
Because I gave her the PC, taught her to use the Internet, introduced her to MySpace.
Because it summarizes all of the different ways in which I was rejected throughout that year and a half.
