Six months of sobriety with only a handful of relapses.
Her eyes are clear, her skin no longer gray. Her thinking is more sharp, and she can deal with moderate stress.
Sad that she'll be at risk her entire life.
Maybe one day there'll be drugs or therapy which can undo the harm.
Today the game is rigged against addicts. It's miraculous that anyone could ever recover.
