Weekend without you, the first on her own in many months.
Does great, even walking past the liquor aisles to buy sodas for herself, without escort.
She's proud, you're proud for her. And yet uneasy, that perhaps she's moving a little too fast, being a little too sanguine, a little less guarded than maybe she should be.
It hurts her feelings when you tell her this, although you are as gentle as possible.
Maybe she's right, and deserves more credit. Your mind is elsewhere, on the setbacks, the many times she's moved too quickly, before she was ready.
All your prayers are for her health.
