"You're 'quirky'," she says.

I'm not sure what this means. Several things at once, maybe.

That I'm emotional, but some of the triggers of my emotionality remain obscure to her.
That I'm unwilling to be bossed, but am generous if approached with reasonable respect.
That I will respond harshly to anyone who disrespects her, but will sometimes disrespect her myself.

These are the attempts at positive spin which occur to me.
