There's a gulf in the way our tastes have evolved. When I was young she was committed to simplicity. In time she's become more like her relatives: eye caught by flashy do-dads. I've kept the tastes for wood and simplicity which I took to heart as a child. She buys collectible chrystal-and-pewter pieces which I find tasteless.
