Poppy strode gamely onto the stage, costumed as Jacques, the analytical younger brother of Orlando in As You Like It. Poppy was frankly uncomfortable with acting and, in truth, he wasn't very good at it. This probably explains why, of all this group, his presidency was limited to a single term.

"All the world's a stage," he said, beginning the famous soliloquy with one finger raised for emphasis; "and all the men and women" — here he held a beat, nodding sagely — "merely players."

He turned to survey his audience. "They have their exits, and their entrances," he said. "And one man in his time plays many parts."
