She was married eleven years to a man she now describes as passionless and incommunicative.
Here's one of her stories. As a girl, she bought a wonderful illustrated edition of The Song of Solomon, as a love-gift for her future husband. On their wedding night she presented it to him as a sacred, solemn marriage-present. He laughed and packed it away in a box. Over the course of their marriage it was ruined by mold.
"I'm not sure why I'm telling you this," she said.
