One of the vulgarizations of psychoanalysis holds that men fall in love with women who are like their mothers. I fell in love with a woman who's like my father. So that I received from her over many years the same nonstop spew of malignant put-downs that I'd avoided from him.

Enough!

I will no longer agree from misguided loyalty to be held back, by her or by anyone.
