November 12, 2006:

Guests are checking in.

You run to help. But, it's a new office: you don't know where all the materials are.

The owner helps you find the registration forms. She looks younger now than she did twenty years ago.

One of the guests doesn't want to sign her name. "The law's changed," she says. "You don't have to do that any more." To your surprise, the owner lets that slide.

She asks, "Why would you want to come back now to do this for so much less money than you make in your own profession?"

"I'd love to be back in La Jolla watching the ocean all day. Besides, I'm hoping you'll find a way to compensate me similarly to what I earn elsewhere."

To your surprise she kisses your cheek. "Were you really going to go the rest of your life without ever writing to me again?"
