June 10, 2010:

Running away from home with your college sweetheart. There's a field to cross, a desert of snow, a final obstacle before reaching the highway; it's night, you can see the headlights of passing cars. You both wear new clothes and boots; you're dragging a sled behind you. But her father catches you before you reach the road: he wants to talk you out of the attempt. "Are you nuts?", you tell him. "We can reach that, easy."
