Our parents lived life mediated by television. None of them were get-out-and-experience-it types.

In our different ways we all revolted against what we believed to be refusal of life. From childhood we were on the road.

Them more than me. I was always an experience-it-quickly-take-its-picture-go-back-to-the-room-and-write-about-it type.

The result is that, while my friends have more miles on their odometers, I have better pictures.
