Her first film displays the same kindness. The characters have their quirks, but none are malicious, and the humor is friendly to them all.
It's an intriguing gift. The ability to project kindness without being saccharine. Built from a base of wicked-sharp psychological observation. Her critical eye could be devastating if she were inclined to destructiveness.
Probably these movies won't be taken "seriously". Clever pop entertainment, I suppose. As she likely prefers it. Seems a shame, though. People could perhaps learn that different role models are available. Some people, anyway.
