Slow learner.
I have to mull, and repeat, and digest. A process of repetition, of iteration, where my understanding deepens, becomes comfortable, in time becomes expert.
Not just reading. Life experiences require the same pattern of repetition and assimilation, where my bovine thickheadedness dooms me to repeat the same mistakes, where someone smarter would have removed that burnt finger from the fire ages ago, until eventually the correct lesson seeps almost surreptitiously into permanence.
