The beautiful "boxing children" fresco from the amazing Acrotiri find.

To my eye, the Bronze Age art of the Minoans and Mycenaeans is so much more compelling than that of the classical Greeks. Where Greek art is formal and static, Minoan art is fluid, dynamic, and so informal it's downright friendly. Nothing in Greek art makes me wish I'd known those people. I feel I could totally hang with these kids.

Professional pics are obviously more balanced than this looking-down-from-Mark-height perspective. I love the pic though, simply because I was there. That's the actual thing. It's c.3500 years old and it's hypnotically gorgeous. I dunno. Past life memory or something.
