So strange that such an intense little friendship could come and go so fast. Blinked, it's gone. Except I didn't blink, I was paying strict attention.


The great thing about email is that you can project your own motives onto your correspondents. There's no need to confront the inevitable human pettiness, or mean-spiritedness, which is always present in everyone, even you. Or to recognize just how ugly they really are.


Maybe I'll give up writing letters for a while.
