From our life-consuming alternative college to a totalizing Stalinist "party" to radical religion, she's looked to outside agencies for structure and direction.
It's not as simple as needing to be told what to do. She demands order in the lives of those near her, using cultic structures to regulate details. The cults are her allies in regimenting her loved ones.
Despite her brittle show of arrogance there's profound insecurity at work. An attempt to prevent the world from throwing surprises.
