Why didn't you ask her home?

Because it was such a surprise to meet someone nice. Because I didn't want to seem like a sleazeball, and my apartment has old vegetables in the sink, and the bed is saggy and uncomfortable and the sheets need washing.

What then?

Clean up the place. Buy a new futon. Go to the show next week. Bring her a tape.
