"Where's he going to sleep, then?", demanded the short, bearded, rather awkward rich boy from back East.
"Anywhere he wants," defiantly and disdainfully replied the very beautiful blonde dancer from the Upper Midwest.
As it turned out, he slept in the upstairs loft, although it could have been possible to interpret the beautiful blonde's defiant rejoinder to the short, bearded, rather awkward rich boy as an invitation. At that time in his life he was not yet confident enough to assume that was the case. The fact he was from Southern California probably had little to do with it.
