It's my rowmate's birthday, and he's missing his son's basketball game. He's an international jeweler who knows internal details of burglar alarm systems, food waste recycling, corruption in Singapore, and which 5g cellular systems are most efficient.
I know these things about him because he won't shut up. He talks nonstop through the entirety of our two hour flight, fortunately not to me but to our hapless aisle seat occupant, too polite to turn away.
