I watch it over and over because I need to experience goodness, even vicariously.
Even fictionally, even featuring surprising sexist tropes and unsurprising anti-Arab racism. Where the core cast depict well-meaning if arrogant servants of the public interest. Acting with integrity and honor under difficult conditions.
It isn't true but I need it to be true. Life raft, of sorts, in a sea of lies. Where the objective future bodes disaster after disaster after disaster.
