Number 36 concentrates on her practice.
Kicks the ball left, moves between dragon's teeth, kicks the ball right. Jogs between teeth head down, rapt. She's on the field working while her teammates are still getting dressed.
The airplanes overhead. Landing, landing: planes and helicopters. As children we rode our bikes to the field to watch the planes. That, and to eat french fries in the little upstairs diner.
