April 25, 2024:

It's found language, or near-found: the Ladies and Gentlemen promotional copy, the exhibition-ad bombast. "Jagger Sings! Jagger Dances! Jagger Explodes!" — the exclamation-pointed huckster register of a roadshow poster, each verb its own line, escalating toward "Jagger Delivers / the Fifteen Hits / that Shook the / World of Music!" The line breaks are doing the work: chopping the slogan into a descending ticker so the hype arrives in breathless increments, the typographic equivalent of a barker's cadence. It connects straight back to the previous day's piece—the Ladies and Gentlemen poster he "bought and hung on various walls for ages." This is that poster talking.
